Doug Cardozo Testimonial
My name is Doug Cardozo, and I moved here about eight and a half years ago from California. The entire concept of having a dedicated place to store my cars was a foreign concept to me coming up in California. And the fact that garages of Texas can make this a reality within something that’s actually attainable just kind of blows me away. So I first heard about garages of Texas, actually through the Porsche club magazine. And at the time, there was only a location at Plano, Willow Bend.
And one day, I was at the outlet mall getting ready to head home. And when I was leaving the outlet mall, I saw a sign that said, garages of Texas coming soon. I was just like, no way. This is way too convenient. I got to give them a call.
I got to reach back out, because at the time I first reached out, it just wasn’t in the deck of cars. It was too far away. I didn’t want to store my cars 20 minutes away from where I was going to be. And the Allen location is literally two stoplights from my house. So that was when I kind of just said, okay, I got to really reach back out to these guys.
And it just became a lot more realistic then. The main reason I’m buying one of the garages in Allen is, realistically, just for space. My car garage right now, it’s maxed out. I have a four car garage. It’s completely full.
I have motorcycles parked horizontally across in front of the cars, and I have to play, basically, musical chairs just to get a car out of the garage. So me moving my car to the garage of the Texas and Allen is going to give me the opportunity to actually drive my cars more. It’s not going to be as much of a musical chairs when I’m trying to take stuff out, and that something that I’m really looking forward to. And then, of course, I have little kids. I have a one year old and a four year old, and I don’t want them to scratch the cars in the process coming in and out of the garage.
So me moving over there to the garages in Allen is going to give me that opportunity to both have the space that I need, but also have the peace of mind knowing I don’t have to worry about my kids scratching my cars and ultimately what will be their cars. The community aspect of garages of Texas was very appealing to me as well. I’m huge on networking. It’s just who I am. It’s just how I’m geared.
And I love the fact that this gives me a community of like minded people for me to share my interests with, meet new friends, and have some fun along the way. Within just several miles of my house, there’s actually about three huge master plan communities that they have in Allen. So this garage is actually going to be in the center of all of that. And I look at it as a good investment in an area that’s about to be thriving with new businesses relocating to this area in the heart of Texas’s growth. So anyone who sees this, if you end up buying a garage in Allen or even somewhere else, come see me.
I’m always trying to meet new people, just like the other people in the community, so I look forward to meeting.
