Finding garages of Texas was almost a perchance for me. I was driving by, saw the location, stopped in, met the salespeople. They took me in, toured me around, and it really piqued my interest to where I thought, you know, this is something I would really enjoy having. So rather than, you know, buy a vacation home or build a secondary garage where I live, I decided to make a second location that would be convenient for me, but that would be very secure and that I could come and visit my cars and bikes whenever I wanted to. It’s like going to the gym, almost.

It gives you a chance to get away from whatever is on your mind, be it work or home or that type of stuff. And you can kind of refresh yourself and come back with a smile on your face, knowing that you’ve got a place to come to and unwind. Surprisingly, what turned out to be my favorite aspect of this garage was initially, I thought I would buy it just for storage, to put my vehicles in. But I’ve been able to make it very comfortable to where I can have friends over. I was able to put a shuffleboard table in a foosball table in a couch and just make it very comfortable.

So it’s not really just for storage. You can actually make this into a very comfortable venue to where you can have people over. And everyone who’s come in has just been surprised, walking through a steel door to see how personal you can make a storage shed, so to speak. I collect a lot of different things, probably too many things, but this gave me a location where I could bring things like my sword collection, my knife collection. I’m somewhat of a World War II buff, so I was able to bring a lot of my World War II models and put them in cabinets and showcase them.

So I was able to really personalize it with the things I like. I like a lot of model cars, et cetera. So I was able to put all those into my garage here and incorporate it into how I set things up. And for me, being a car and motorcycle enthusiast, this setup and venue was perfect for my needs. It’s not just a storage unit, it’s an extension of your life in your home.
