Coppell resident Anjan Shenoy is transforming his new garage at Garages of America Carrollton II into an elevated space that will be a hub for his passions; cars, photography, music, design and perhaps most importantly, time with family.
The strong sense of community at Garages of America was one of the main reasons Anjan chose to invest in a space at Carrollton II. Located just minutes from his home, this garage provides a place where he can connect with fellow enthusiasts who share similar interests and create a special space for his hobbies.
Anjan’s garage features an impressive collection of classic and modern vehicles including a 1987 Porsche 911 Targa and a 2021 Land Rover Defender. As a Porsche enthusiast, he appreciates the design and engineering behind each vehicle. That appreciation for detail extends beyond his car collection and is on clear display along with another passion of Anjan’s: his collection of intricate LEGO masterpieces.
An accomplished LEGO builder, Anjan has completed more than 25 complex LEGO sets, all displayed on a wall in his upstairs mezzanine. What began as a simple hobby has now evolved into a lifelong passion, resulting in some truly remarkable creations.
His collection includes everything from working vehicle models and motorcycles to architectural masterpieces and famous works of art. Among his favorites are LEGO recreations of Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night,” Claude Monet-inspired pieces and the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
His latest challenge? Building one of the largest LEGO sets ever released – the 10,001-piece LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower which stands 58.5 inches tall (nearly 5 feet), making it one of the tallest LEGO sets ever created.
Anjan’s LEGO passion has taken on an even sweeter meaning because he shares this hobby with his two young daughters. Although the process can sometimes take weeks, Anjan treasures these priceless moments he gets to spend alongside his girls.
Fatherhood has taught Anjan the value of patience and that there is no instruction manual for raising children. He believes the most important lessons come from leading by example. Whether the Shenoy family is building LEGO sets, traveling or working on cars together, he hopes his daughters will learn from watching how he approaches life and embraces new challenges.
The Shenoy family profile would not be complete without spotlighting Leo, their family’s beloved golden retriever. Leo is the family’s built-in travel buddy and even has his own corner of the new garage, complete with portraits and a cozy viewing area – a sweet reminder that family comes in many shapes and sizes.
