GARAGES OF AMERICA REMEMBERS JACK GRIFFIN

Garages of America is deeply saddened by the death of co-founder Jack Griffin, who died Sunday in a car accident near Gunter, Texas.
Griffin was a respected commercial real estate developer, tennis player, accomplished endurance racer, automotive collector and longtime leader within North Texas’ automotive enthusiast community.
A standout tennis player at Baylor University, Griffin went on to build a successful career in commercial real estate, including his work with Trammell Crow. His lifelong interest in automobiles developed into a remarkable racing career that included the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona, the Miami Grand Prix and other iconic racing events.
In 2012, Griffin and Fred Gans co-founded Garages of Texas, now Garages of America. Griffin’s automotive expertise, personal relationships and understanding of the collector community were instrumental in transforming the concept into a successful company and a community for people who share a passion for automobiles.
“Jack was much more than our co-founder. He was our partner, our friend and the heart of the automotive community we set out to create,” said Fred Gans, co-founder of Garages of America. “His passion and personality are woven into the foundation of this company. We will miss him more than words can express.”
Beginning with its first luxury garage community in Plano, Garages of Texas has grown to 14 communities across Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and Houston.
Griffin also served in numerous leadership roles with the Maverick Region of the Porsche Club of America, the organization’s North Texas chapter. He was known throughout the automotive community for his competitive spirit, extensive knowledge, engaging stories and ability to bring people together.
Friends of Jack are remembering him during a gathering on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm at Garages of America Carrollton located at 2323 Tarpley Road, Carrollton. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Griffin is survived by three sons and eight grandchildren, all of whom reside in the Dallas area. He will also be remembered by countless friends throughout the automotive and racing communities.
