Every August finds Gearheads thinking and planning their Pebble Beach car week adventures. This year was no exception with many of our communities well represented at the Monterey peninsula events. I’ve heard several great stories about amazing auto and celeb sightings at the Quail, Laguna Seca, Pebble and numerous private parties, unveilings and in downtown Carmel. Great fun enjoyed by so many of our community members!!
Several of our communities are doing their own private cars & coffee gatherings, but in Carrollton we do our monthly Garages & Gearheads event that is open to the public and most especially all our great garage community guests. It’s a fun morning of car talk and amazing garage viewing that always occurs the 1st Saturday of every month from 9-11 am. Coffee, donuts, breakfast tacos and mimosas are provided by our great sponsors. Each month we feature and showcase a particular automotive marque or car club, which will be Lamborghini on September 6. So, if you’ve never attended, you’re missing a great opportunity to show up and join the fun (PS, bring the family – they will love it)!
So many of our garage community members have recently acquired new models and as I visit several garage locations I’m always amazed at the variety and quality of cars that come and go from our garages! Lately I’ve seen everything from vintage VW bugs to new Ferrari models, and of course, the non-stop specials from Porsche and others. I especially enjoyed feasting my eyes on the McLaren models recently when I attended a F1 race watching event at the McLaren showroom. It’s truly a great time to be a Gearhead!!
Later in September, I’ll be joining quite a few Garages of America friends on a several day driving adventure to Telluride for their annual Fall Festival of Color car event. I was so impressed with my trip last year that I was determined to recruit some of my garage friends for this year’s edition. It wasn’t difficult to twist some arms. Shelby was the feature last year with many of the original Venice Beach location employees in attendance.
Until next time, have fun on the road and be safe!!
