My name’s Anjan Shannoy. I grew up in Bombay, India, now called Mumbai. I moved to the US about 20-odd years ago. We built a software startup company right in Addison, Texas. And I’m very excited to be here on location at Garages of America in Carrollton. I’m here to check out the Phase Two construction and see how it’s progressing. Seeing the building being built out to what it’s going to be is extremely satisfying and exciting, as I’ll be having a unit in there. It’s one of the units that are going to be built. Hopefully, if everything works out, it’s gonna be mine. So I’m extremely excited for that reason. I’m actually an active member of the Porsche Club of America. Obviously, I love Porsches. I prefer older Porsches than the newer ones. I’m more of an old-school, take-it-easy-driving kind of guy.
At one point, we had three motorcycles in the stable till we got kids, and we decided to, you know, focus on SUVs. Hopefully, with this, we will get back into motorcycling, especially the old vintage and classic motorcycles. And my biggest question to them was, ‘How do you manage to have more than two cars? Where do you store two cars? How are you managing the logistics of this?’ If you visit the garage I currently have, the walls are lined with a variety of artwork and car-centric posters. I’m actually an audiophile, too, so we have six speakers in our current garage. Keeping in mind all these aspects, we ran out of space.
We are a pretty closely knit family, and I’ll be very honest, this garage is not a replacement for home. We are hoping that this space will give us the option to put up a slot car track, like a photo booth in there, put curtains in there, get the girls there, do a photo shoot, you know, close it off. Me and my two daughters are very big into building car Legos, technical 2,000-piece, 5,000-piece block Legos. It’s gonna be pretty unique. Even my girls are very excited for it because they get a chance to build more Legos because we have space. The home garage is going to get mirrored into a much nicer setup in the Garages of America unit that we’ll have. The community feels more like family than an inclusive community and that’s the biggest reason I wanted to get in, to be a part of the Garages of America phase two structures.
